Updating a 105-Year-Old Folk Victorian Home.
At Jeffrey Bruce Baker Designs, we believe a home should be more than a space—it should be a living narrative, seamlessly blending historical elegance with modern sophistication.
This 105-year-old Ansley Park residence is a masterful reinvention, balancing timeless architectural character with bold contemporary design, tailored for clients who appreciate bespoke luxury and refined artistry.
This home is a curated dialogue between past and present, uniting New England heritage with a modern, gallery-like aesthetic. Gas lanterns, a grand mahogany entrance, and a classic wood-burning fireplace evoke warmth and nostalgia, while the gallery and dining areas celebrate clean lines, breath space, and a carefully curated art collection. The result is a bold yet balanced expression of luxury, individuality, and timeless design.
A sanctuary of quiet sophistication, the library is designed for both introspection and refined entertaining. A lowered ceiling, striking wallpaper, and rich chocolate brown marble walls create a cocoon-like atmosphere, while plush mohair seating, shearling and alpaca accents, and vintage Danish furnishings invite relaxation. With custom leather-wrapped bookshelves and ambient lighting, this space is a bespoke masterpiece where architectural storytelling meets modern indulgence.
The gallery is a modernist statement, designed to showcase a dynamic mix of abstract, traditional, and neo-noir artworks. Soaring ceilings and crisp white walls set the stage for a collection as bold as its owners, while sculptural furnishings—including the Astral Walnut Bench by Thos. Moser and a Ligne Roset Chaise—frame the warm marble fireplace with mirror polished pewter accents. This is a space where luxury interior design, fine art, and architectural mastery converge.
A culinary showpiece, this kitchen is designed for elevated entertaining and gourmet living. A traditional French top range and salamander broiler offer restaurant-level precision, while a sculptural trapezoidal island seamlessly integrates seating, dining, and functionality. A sophisticated mix of Sassafras wood cabinetry, sleek black Fenix Nanotech surfaces, and heated terrazzo floors ensures warmth, texture, and style. Accented with Bahama Mar quartzite countertops, this kitchen is a statement of refined luxury, where historic charm meets contemporary innovation.
